The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the signing of guard Damon Ballantyne, who joins the Wolfpack for the 2025 NBL1 West Season.

Described as the ultimate versatile guard, Ballantyne joins the Wolfpack after being signed to the Goldfield Giants in 2021. With the ability to step into any position, the 6’5 Ballantyne will be an invaluable addition to the Wolfpack in 2025.

The 2024 NBL1 West season proved to be Ballantyne’s most consistent to date. In his 24 games, he not only played the most minutes in his entire career but also averaged 10.88 points, 2.08 assists, and 4.17 rebounds per game.

We are excited to have Damon join the Wolfpack in 2025 and look forward to watching him dominate the court.

Speaking on the re-signing, Men’s Head Coach David Morrell said, “With Damon becoming available this season and moving to Perth after a good chunk of time with the Giants in Kalgoorlie, we knew he would be a big addition if we could get him, so we are thrilled to have him at the Wolfpack for 2025.

Playing against him the past 3 seasons, he has always set the tone for the Giants team with elite toughness and strength, versatile defence, great playmaking, IQ, and an unselfishness that always stands out.

He can make plays for himself, too, but always seems to make the right play. These are attributes that win you a lot of games, and we expect him to help set the tone for us in these ways, too. I can’t wait to get to work with Damon and add him into our group and start to figure out all the ways he can help make us better.

When asked about how it feels to be a part of the Wolfpack for the 2025 season, Ballantyne said, “I’m super excited to be a part of the Wolfpack for the upcoming season!

I can’t wait to join the winning culture and professionalism of this group, and to play in front the best fans in the league. Our goal this year is to play in the RAC arena and lift that championship trophy above our heads.”
