The Meneghello Industrial Group Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the signing of elite Point Guard Asianae Johnson for the 2026 NBL1 West Season.

“It feels great to sign with the Wolves, I’m super excited to get to Perth. From what I’ve seen, it’s a great environment with strong ambitions, and I’m looking forward to getting started and meeting everyone.

“I’m bringing passion and a dawg mentality! I’m someone who always wants to push myself and my teammates to be better every day, so I’m excited to bring that mindset and help create a strong team culture.

“Fans can expect me to give 100% every night I step on the floor. I’m going to do whatever I can to help the Wolves succeed!”

A 5’8 Guard from Brooklyn, New York, Asianae is currently one of the top players for Energa Polski Cukier Torun, a professional basketball team based in Poland. Over the 2025-26 Poland-OBLK season, Johnson has featured in 21 games, and averaged 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game.

Before signing with Torun, Asianae had a breakout season for the Norrkoping Dolphins, playing in the highest league in Sweden. One of the top players in the country over the 2024-2025 season, Johnson was named All-Swedish League Guard of the Year after averaging 20 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game, as well as shooting 36% from the three.

Asianae graduated from Mississippi State University in 2023, with her college basketball spanning five years, with four years being spent with the St Bonaventure Bonnies and one year with the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Having scored 1,444 career points during her time with the Bonnies, Asianae currently ranks ninth in the teams all-time scoring list, including 78 double-figure performances.

Her time with the Bonnies also saw Asianae named in the 2021 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Third Team, and the 2022 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team.

Women’s Head Coach Mitch Langford spoke on the excitement around signing Asianae ahead of the NBL1 West Season.

“I’m really excited to bring AJ into the group for NBL1 2026, she is an elite professional athlete that continues to dominate in the international scene since a strong college career.

Everywhere she goes she impacts winning dramatically on both ends of the floor. Offensively the exciting part of bringing in AJ is that while she can willingly score, she is known for her ability to create for others and get the ball to her teammates when the opportunity comes.

AJ brings an intensity to both ends of the floor, as one of the best defenders in Poland and Sweden in her last two seasons, she will show fans from the minute she gets here what she is all about. She is an elite human that will impact the group and the Wolfpack community from the minute she arrives.”

Asianae is our eleventh Women’s player signed ahead of the 2026 NBL1 West Season. To follow all the upcoming NBL1 West and Wolves Action, head to the Wolfpack’s Facebook and Instagram Pages.
