The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the signing of international pro, Julia Chandler for the 2024 NBL1 West season!

Hailing from Toronto Canada, Julia Chandler is a 6’2 center who brings valuable size and a wealth of experience and skill to the Wolfpack. Julia has represented Canada on the international stage, and started her college career with Syracuse Orange in the NCAA Div I.

At Syracuse, Julia adapted her game from playing the guard position to the center spot, which made her a formidable threat across the floor being a capable ball handler and outside shooter. After the completion of her sophomore year at Syracuse, Julia transferred to the University of Dayton in Ohio to play for the Flyers.

After graduating from Dayton University, Julia began her professional career playing for Monaco Basketball Association, in France’s top league, averaging 8.4 points and 6.5 rebounds during her time there. Julia is currently playing for FCL Feytait, in France’s second league where she is averaging 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

Wolfpack fans can look forward to seeing Julia in Green on Van Kailis Court, HBF Arena. Julia will join the squad at the completion of her season in France.

Women’s Head coach Jesse Pence had this to say about signing Julia:

“We are thrilled to add a player the calibre of Julia Chandler to our 2024 roster. She has experience all over the world and we look forward to how she fits within our style of play. Our team is EXCITED to be able to add another high-level player as we look to maximize our position in the NBL1 West.”

When asked for a statement on her recent signing, Julia said:

“I’m looking forward to meeting everyone at the club and getting to know everyone and starting this season with this group. This is my first time in Australia and I’m excited to experience the culture and the coastal city of Joondalup.”

Julia joins teammates Peanut Tuitele, Kyah Nichols, Dynn Leaupepe, Hannah Duncan, Jorjah Smith, Emma Clarke, Laniesha Paddon, Ella Thornton-Elliott, Sarah Toeaina and Darien Huff for the 2024 NBL1 West season.
