The Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the re-signing of Wolves junior Tariq Muturi ahead of the beginning of the 2025 NBL1 West Season.
A hardworking athlete on both ends of the court, Tariq’s efforts saw him named as the Wolves Most Improved D-League Player for the end of the 2024 season.
Since signing with the Wolfpack in 2022, Tariq has continually excelled as a scorer and facilitator, showing consistent dedication and improvement throughout his time with the Pack.
Wolves fans look forward to seeing Tariq bring his trademark energy and competitiveness to the game as he continues to grow over the course of the 2025 NBL1 West season.
Speaking on the signing, Men’s Head Coach David Morrell said, “We have been pleased with Tariq this off-season and are pleased to bring him back into the fold for 2025. Tariq proved to be a difficult guy to guard at the D-League level last year, and he continues improving.
He’s a very skilled combo guard who can play the point, or he can play the 2 and score in a lot of different ways. He’s a guy who always lifts training with his work rate and is always good as a teammate. We are looking forward to his development this year.”
When asked how it feels to continue with the Wolfpack for the 2025 season, Tariq said, “I am incredibly excited to sign and be back with the Wolfpack officially.
It’s an honour to be a part of this club, and I can’t wait to play in front of the best crowd in the league. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn under Coach David while developing my game further.
I hope to contribute in whatever way I can in our run towards a championship”
