The Meneghello Industrial Group City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the re-signing of athletic combo-guard Ella Thornton-Elliott for the 2026 NBL1 West Season.
“I am super excited to be back with the pack for this season. The game day experience is something you don’t feel anywhere else, so I am grateful to have the honour of playing for the Wolves once again. With the new coaching staff and squad, I am looking forward to bringing that championship-winning energy to the court while showing the league what we’ve got.
“I’m known to be the 3PT catch and shoot player, but I am expanding my game to bring some more excitement to the court. I am really building on my aggressiveness and defensive tenacity to be an exciting but disruptive player on court. I’ve been adding in some gym sessions, so hopefully I can snag some and-1’s!
“Fans can expect me to be ready to knock down the three ball at any time whilst being a defensive threat on ball. I show that team first mentality, and I will back my teammates in any situation we are in, I’m usually quiet on court, but you can all expect me to me fired up this season!”
Deadly from the three, Ella has improved year-on-year with the Wolfpack since first signing in 2024. Making 17 appearances for the Wolves last season, Ella averaged 6.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. The combo-guard finished off her year representing Australia during the 2025 Deaflympics in Tokyo as part of the Geckos squad.
We are beyond excited to have Ella continue to grow and make an impact as part of the Wolfpack for the 2026 NBL1 Season.
Women’s Head Coach Mitch Langford spoke on the importance of re-signing Ella for the upcoming season.
“Ella’s elite shooting adds a huge dimension to our offence. She stretches the floor, punishes defensive lapses, and makes teams pay from the deep. On the other end, she thrives on the challenge of guarding the oppositions best player, bringing discipline, physicality, and relentless pressure possession after possession.
“Her intensity and aggression aren’t just part of her game – they’re who she is. Ella competes with edge, sets the tone defensively, and plays every moment with purpose. That fire lifts the group and defines the standard we want to play with every night.”
Ella is our third Women’s player signed ahead of the 2026 NBL1 West Season. To secure your seats and watch Ella shoot the three during the 2026 NBL1 West Season, you can purchase your membership here.
