The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the re-signing of former Centre of Excellence athlete (COE) and NBL1 West Select player Ethan Elliott for the 2025 and 2026 NBL1 West seasons.
Despite being only 20 years old, Elliott already has a wealth of experience behind him at both a National and NBL1 Level. His increased experience and ever improving skills were showcased weekly during the 2024 NBL1 West Season, as he averaged 12.80 points, 5.05 assists and 4.55 rebounds per game.
Recognised as one of the best young players in the country, Ethan averaged 13.6 points, 4 assists and 1.6 steals per game representing WA at the 2023 U20 National Championships, going on to win gold with an 8-0 record. Following this, Ethan was selected for the Wildcats Academy class of 2023 which is a program providing the top 29 players in the state with opportunities in higher levels of competition.
Ethan has accomplished great things at the National and semi-professional level already, and we look forward to seeing Ethan’s continued success throughout the coming two seasons.
When asked about how it feels to sign with the Wolfpack for the 2025 and 2026, Ethan said, “Signing back with the Wolves was a no brainier for me. I felt so loved and a part of a big community that made game nights the best atmosphere with the support we receive.
The organisation is run at such a professional standard that allows me to always try and take my game to the next level. I loved playing under David and playing alongside the boys and I think I can speak for everyone and say that we as a team are looking to get one step further than last year.”
Speaking on the importance of re-signing Ethan, Men’s Head Coach David Morrell said, “It is a team-altering signing to return Ethan Elliott, and we are so happy to continue working with him for 2025 and 2026. Going into last year we said we’ve got the best young point guard in the league.
In 2025, his next step is to enter the conversation as the best guard in the league regardless of age. There are a lot of tremendously talented guards in this league, but I am a huge believer in Ethan’s potential and his ability to ascend over the next 12 months.
It’s crazy to think of this, but he only turned 20 years old a couple months ago. His work ethic is next level, and this certainly adds to his potential. Last year it was such and joy to add him into our team as he made an immediate impact on our culture with his competitiveness, unselfishness, and professionalism.
We look forward to him continuing to develop in major ways going into this year and hope to have him as part of the Pack for many successful seasons to come.”
