The Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the signing of New Zealand basketballer Jyordanna Davey for the 2025 NBL1 West Season.
A young 6’0 tall forward from Wellington in New Zealand, Jyordanna has plenty of experience on the international circuit, despite only being 21 years old. Davey played for the Dodge City Conquistadors in Kansas, competing in the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) Division 1, most recently during the 2023-2024 College basketball season.
Before joining Dodge City, Jyordanna spent 2022-23 playing for the Auburn University Warhawks in NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division 2, playing 18 games. Before heading to the US to join the College Basketball system, Jyordanna represented the New Zealand National Team at the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup in 2022.
Attending Wainuiomata High School Sacred Heart College in New Zealand, Jyordanna was part of the New Zealand national team program for five years, touring with the New Zealand Elite and playing against the country’s best basketballers.
Jyordanna has collected several accolades over her career, including being named Emerging Sportswoman of the Year in women’s basketball and Young Sports Woman of the Year, as well as being named Most Valuable Player at the U15 National Tournament.
On the signing, Women’s Head Coach Jesse Pence said, “We are excited to have Jyordanna joining us for the 2025 season. We are impressed with her character on and off the court and looking forward to seeing her gel with our team this season!”
When asked how running with the Pack for the 2025 season feels, Jyordanna said, “Joining the Wolfpack is incredibly exciting! I’ve heard that the fan base is amazing, passionate, supportive, and fully behind the team and its players. I can’t wait to get over there and experience this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
What drew me in was the team’s ability to compete at such a high level. Their competitiveness and the fight they bring to every game make this the environment I want to be in, one I know I’ll thrive in.
A huge thank you to Andrew and Coach Jesse for giving me this opportunity! I’m excited to get to work and help rack up some wins this season.
I’m ready to make an immediate impact, bring energy, and continue growing throughout the season. I look forward to learning from my coaches and teammates while bringing a new style of play that fits within the system.”
