The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the re-signing of exciting youngster Ben Geel for the 2025 NBL1 West season.
At 21 years old, Wolves Junior Ben Geel has continued to excel and show off his explosive potential during his time at the Wolfpack. Building on his impressive offensive and defensive capabilities, Ben continued honing his skills and was rewarded with his second consecutive D-League Most Valuable Player Award this season.
Wolfpack fans will remember Geel for his spectacular dunk against the Cockburn Cougars earlier this year in June, where he showcased his athletic talent and flare, which will only grow as he gets more minutes off the bench in the upcoming season.
Wolfpack fans can expect to see him develop further as he continues to run with the pack in 2025.
Speaking on the re-signing, Men’s Head Coach David Morrell said, “We are very excited to bring Wolfpack junior Ben Geel back into our squad for 2025. He emerged last year as a player we could rely on even in critical moments of some games, getting over some of his rookie nerves and settling in at this level.
He’s only 21, and he keeps developing every year. He plays with effort and does dirty work as a rebounder and defender. He’s a rangy athlete with long arms and terrific quickness and leaping ability – look out for a few more big highlights from him this year.
He’s also a great guy for the team culture, as he always shows up ready to work and puts the team first. He bleeds green, and we are thrilled to have him back with us for 2025.”
Geel was excited to continue with the Wolfpack in 2025, saying, “I’m happy to re-sign with the Wolfpack this season. We have a great squad this year, and with the best fans in the league, it’ll be exciting to see what we can accomplish this season. I’m thankful to the coaches for believing in me and re-signing me.”
