Wolfpack WABL teams played their round 16 games this weekend. As a collective, Wolves teams had a 19-16 record, a .543 win rate.
The U12 Champs Girls got off to a roaring start, 19-0 at the end of the 1st quarter. They were able to maintain control of the game en route to a 46-27 win over Senators. As the 3 seed they will play, Hill Raiders at Warwick Stadium, 2pm. Our U12-2 Girls Green defeated Warwick 2s to setup a rematch next week, 3pm in Cockburn. U12-3 Girls White team were defeated 28-49 by Cockburn 3s. That still locks in 6th place in division 3 for a very young and talented group! They will get their first taste of finals basketball against Lakeside 2s, 1:15pm in Cockburn. In their 2 previous matchups the U12 White Wolves were able to win by 6 and were dfeated by 4 so we like their chances! The U12-4 Girls took on Slammers 2s and smashed in it the end, 62-25, including a 35-9 2nd half performance. YTG! Next up is the 4v5 game against the Cockburn Cougars, at Cockburn, 9:45am.
The U14 Champs Girls move to 9-7 on the year with a win over Senators. That sets up a matchup with the 3-seed Rockingham Flames, with whom the Wolves defeated by 23 and also lost to by 3 in their previous matchups. The U14-2 Girls lost 40-43 at the hands of the Mandurah Magic. At 12-4 this talented group locks in the 2nd seed and looks to host Willetton at Arena Joondalup, 1pm in the quarterfinals. The U14-3 Girls had an impressive flurry to overcome their counterpart in the Senators 51-50. The win locks in a 12-4 record and 3rd place. Their quarterfinals opponent will be the Eastern Suns at Willetton, 10am. The Wolves boast a pair of wins by 20 and 22 on the season. The U14-4 Girls lost to the 1st place Rockingham Flames 58-67 and clinch the 2-seed with a terrific 12-4 record. They will face off with Hills 2s in their quarterfinals at Willetton, 2pm.
The U16 Champs Girls upended the Senators 65-56 building on a 20-9 1st quarter advantage. Whatever tactics of pressure or loose zone were no match for the Heath Bradley led Wolfpack. The Wolves will play Mandurah who they lost to by 5 and also defeated by 9 in the season series. The U16 Girls Green Wolves defeated Lakeside 74-45 to move their record to 13-3 and set up a matchup with Rockingham Flames, 11am at Arena Joondalup. With the result, the Wolves lock in 2nd in a tough division and knock the Senators down the 5th. The U16 Girls White Wolves closed the season in style with a 75-59 victory. They also sit at 13-3 on the season and clinched the 1st seek in the division. Their quarterfinal matchup will be with Tigers 4s, 9am at Arena Joondalup. U16-4 Girls were defeated 45-83 by East Perth Blue, setting up a rematch in Finals with East Perth Blue, 3pm at Arena Joondalup.
The U18-4 Women defeated Redbacks 48-39 and now look forward to their match with Mandurah Gold, 2pm at East Perth. The U18-3 Women were defeated by Eagles 2s and look to battle for supremacy against Warwick 3s, 4pm at Warwick Stadium. The U18-2 lock in an undefated 16-0 season with a 92-56 win over Senators 3s. That sets them up for the 1v8 game against Suns, 12 noon, at Warwick Stadium. The U18 Champs Women lost 51-87 and they will square off with Cockburn, 2pm at Bendat.
The U21 Champs Women battled from beginning to end and came away with a 71-62 win over Lakeside. That boost their record to 10-5 on the season with a matchup with Cockburn scheduled for 6pm at Bendat.
The U12 Champs Boys closed out their undefeated 16-0 season with a 65-33 victory over Senators. With the win the boys will start their finals quest with a trip down to Rockingham to face the Flames at 8am. The U12-2 Boys defeated Senators 42-28 to lock up 4th place in division 2 and setup a rematch with Senators, 1:15pm in Rockingham. U12-3 Boys locked in the 5th seed in division 3 with their win over 3rd seed Eastern Suns, 57-55. Next up is the Tigers 2s, 2pm in East Perth. The U12-4 Boys were defeated 35-39 by Cockburn and they will get their rematch down in Rockingham, 1:15pm.
The U14 Champs Boys took ust their 2nd loss of the season and maintain their no.1 seed status heading into finals. First up is the Perth Redbacks, 2pm in Willetton. The U14-2 Boys were defeated 57-72 at the hands of Slammers 1s. The Wolves look to make a strong impression in finals, matching up with Senators 2s, 3pm at Arena Joondalup. The U14-3 Boys ousted the Senators 68-60 to improve their record to 8-8 in the season. They will play Hills 1s at 3pm, in Cockburn. The U14-4 Boys took a tough defeat 31-33 to Cockburn White and will look to bounce back this week with their matchup with Cockburn Blue, 5pm at Arena Joondalup.
The U16-1 Boys concluded their regular season at 15-1 and look to matchup with Tigers 2s at 8am, in Willetton. The U16-2 Boys were defeated 74-81 and move to 7-9 on the season. They await the Lakeside Lightning 2s in finals, 2pm at Warwick Stadium. The U16-3 Boys came from behind to defeat the Rockingham Flames 56-55. With the win, they secure the no.1 seed heading into finals. The U16-4 Boys went on the road to 2nd seeded Lakeside and were defeated 66-68. As a result, it will be an all-Wolves quarterfinal at 10am, Warwick Stadium.
The U18 Champs Men lost to the Senators 102-108 and will matchup with them at 6pm at Bendat. The Wolves are 2-1 vs Warwick this year, with wins by 12 and 14 points. U18-2 Men were defeated 67-70 and look to matchup with the Redbacks at 8am, Warwick Stadium. The U18-3 Men Green defeated Warwick Blue 92-85. That moves them to 15-1 on the season and the Minor Premiers. Their 1st round of finals game as been forfeited by their opponent Warwick Blue due to an overflow of e-points violations accumulated during the season. Straight to the Semifinals sounds pretty good! The U18-4 Men White defeated Rockingham in Rockingham to secure the 2nd spot of the ladder heading towards finals. They look to keep the momentum going with a matchup against Slammers 2s, 10am in East Perth.
The U20 Champs Men lost 72-85 in the final round of the regular season. They look to take out the 3rd seeded East Perth Eagles, 4pm at Bendat. The U20-2 Men matchup with top-seed Redbacks 1s, 2pm at Bendat.
