WABL Recap – Round 6!

Wolfpack WABL teams played their round 6 games last weekend.

The U12 boys went 1-3 on Sunday. The Champ Boys defeated Rockingham 90 to 45. They move to 6-0 on the year and are two games up on second place. Team 2 lost 56 to 70 against Perry Lakes’ team 1 and Wolves team 3 lost 49-57 to Perry Lakes Hawks team 2. And Wolves team 4 had a good game against Slammers team 2, but fell 13 points short in the end.

The U14 boys went 3-1 on the day. The Champ Boys get another big win, this time over Redbacks. They won 86-47. The U14-2 Boys had a tough one against the Hawks 1’s team, and lost by a 39-point margin. The U14-3 Boys played tough and won 63-49. The U14-4 boys team also go a win, 55-47 against the Lightning 3s team.

The U16 boys had 2 wins and 2 losses. The team 1 boys got a 107-68 win over the Eastern Suns. The 16-2 boys lost to Perry Lakes by a score of 69-79. Team 3 played terrific basketball and won 73-55 over Suns White. And team 4 lost a close game against the Slammers, by a score of 80-87.  

U18 Champ Men had a tough day against the Hawks and lost by 12. The Wolves 2s lost to the Suns 1s team. Team 3 had a memorable game down in Bunbury that ended early due to a monster slam dunk by Rafael Viegas tore the rim off of the backboard. With the broken rim, the game was called off, and the Wolves were up 46-40 at that point. With the lead at the point of the rim breaking, the Wolves got the win. Team 4 lost 76-93 to Willo 3s.

The Under 20 men team 1 were short-handed. But they were fighting tough and it was very close at halftime. Then they lost the 3rd quarter 36-13 and the game was out of touch from that point on. Team 2 had a 13-point loss to Lakeside’s 1s. 

The U12 girls went 3-1. The Champs Girls won big over Perry Lakes, 77-24. The U12 Girls Green won 59-38 over Perry Lakes as well. The U12 Girls White had another tough, close loss, 35-39 against Lakeside 2. The U12-4 Girls had a good win against Cockburn 29-14. They had a terrific first half and were up 12-3 at halftime, and continued the momentum into a win.

The U14 girls were 1-3. The Champs Girls had a 2-point heartbreaker against Hawks, with the Hawks scoring the final basket to break the tie at the end. Team 2 for Wolves had a very bad first quarter and got down 32-12. From there, they won the final 3 quarters by a score of 32-25. But the damage was done, and they went down. Team 3 had a big 26-point victory over Cockburn. Team 4 also had a heartbreaker, losing to Lakeside 3 by 1-point.  

The U16 girls went a perfect 4-0 on the day! The Champs team had a big 85-61 win over the Hawks. Team 2 had a big win over Tigers 4s, with a final score of 86-40, while Team 3 also had a win. They played the Suns and won 62-54. Finally, the team 4 girls won 100-43 over the Hills Raiders.

The U18 girls had a 1-3 day. The Champs Women had a good close game but fell a few points short in the end. Team 2 had a big margin of win over Suns. Team 3 had a rough game, and lost 26-63 to the Hawks, while Team 4 lost to Cockburn.

The U21 women had a bye.
