The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce that guard Luca O’Brien has re-signed for the 2025 NBL1 West season.

Luca has been a committed and hardworking NBL1 Men’s program player since 15. O’Brien is regarded for his high basketball IQ, which, combined with his fast pace and finishing ability, makes him an incredibly valuable athlete as part of the Wolfpack.

Stepping up during the 2024 NBL1 West Season, Luca captained the Wolves D-League squad, showing off his talents as a point guard and his ability to lead during crucial moments.

On the re-signing, Men’s Head Coach David Morrell said, “We are very excited to bring young Luca O’Brien back for 2025. Luca is a talented point guard who has shown tremendous mental growth over the past year, which is crucial for the point guard position.

He also shows terrific leadership skills, once again captaining our D-League squad last year. He’s a guy who can really get to the rim, defend, and even lead at a young age.

He continues to develop year after year, and I am excited for another year of building together.

Anytime we can return a talented Wolfpack junior, we are thrilled, and this is no exception. Welcome back to the Pack for 2025, Luca. I can’t wait to see what we can do.

When asked about how it feels to be a part of the Wolfpack for the 2025 season, Luca said, “It’s an honour to be resigning with the Wolves again. We have had some very successful seasons in the past but haven’t quite reached that end goal yet of a championship. I and the rest of the team are motivated and determined to bring a championship to the best fans in the world.”
