Coach Development
At the WBA we believe that Coach Education and Training is central to the continued positive growth of our sport.
We offer both informal and formal opportunities for coach education and training. Informal education is offered through events like clinics and workshops. While formal education involves participating in an accredited program, which generally result in state, national, or international recognition of skills and competencies.
Domestic Coach Education Session
This clinic is free for domestic coaches within Wanneroo Basketball Association. The goal of the clinics it to provide quality content and drills that coaches can utilize for their teams of any age group. We will work on drill and skill variation, how to engage your team, and general activity rate. These clinics are made to cover essentials, basics, and intermediate coaching skills for domestic coaches.
These courses are run 2-3 per times per school term to provide plenty of opportunity for our coaches to improve their knowledge and upskill.
Please join us as we start a new season.

Led by our Player and Coach Development Manager, David Morrell, these sessions are designed to keep the knowledge of our WABL coaches current and ensure consistency across our program in our teachings and style of play. Casually delivered with an interactive approach, these sessions are open to all current WABL Head and Assistant Coaches.

Our NBL1 training sessions are open for WBA coaches to observe each Tuesday and Thursday night during the NBL1 season. Come along and get tips and tricks, the latest drills, and get inspired to develop your own players to be the best they can be.
